There are Three Faculties which act as advisory bodies to the Academic Council. In addition, Council has formally delegated some of its powers to Faculties.
The Deans’ Office is responsible for the administrative requirements of the Deans’ of the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Science and Engineering. The Deans’ Office prepares the annual NUI Maynooth Calendar which is the core official publication of the University. This publication outlines the structure and organisation of the University and contains complete details of all academic programmes and personnel.
The office acts as the point of liaison between academic departments and University administrative offices in facilitating the processing of routine (e.g., University approval of student admission) and exceptional business requiring deliberation and approval from the University's statutory bodies. The office is also responsible for establishing and promoting the profile of the Faculties to external audiences. A Locator Booklet (how to find your way around campus) is produced by the Office for first-year students. You can download the booklet in PDF format.
In addition, the University is home to many research centres, institutes and groups.
